Dr. Yahya Dowlati, a distinguished dermatologist based in the USA, earned his Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from Tehran University in 1959, followed by an M.D. from the same university in 1966. In December 1968, he completed his internship at Bon Secours Hospital in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, USA. Continuing his medical education, from 1969 to 1972, Dr. Dowlati pursued residency and fellowship training in dermatology and dermatopathology at Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
In September 2010, the Honorary Professorship of Franche-Comté University was bestowed upon Dr. Yahya Dowlati, who served as the Director of the “Center for Research and Training in Skin Diseases and Leprosy-CRTSDL” at Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
Recognizing his contributions, in December 2013, Dr. Dowlati was honored as an outstanding mentor by the International Society of Dermatology during the International Congress of Dermatology in New Delhi, India.
As the founder and current director of the Center for Research and Training in Skin Diseases and Leprosy at Tehran University, School of Medical Sciences, Dr. Dowlati received the distinction of being designated an Honorary Life Member of the World Health Academy (WHA) on June 14, 2014.
